Sealants

Brushing and flossing are the best ways to prevent cavities but for hard to clean some areas of the mouth like the molars which is where bacteria can flourish and cause cavities. Sealants are a protective coatings that dentists apply to help prevent cavity formation or to slow/stop cavity progression. The best part about sealants is that they are quick and painless. Most of the time this procedure is given to children as it is hard for them to brush the molars and if foods get trapped there then cavities are likely to form. The sealant we use is pink in color and once we shine the light on there it turns white, blending in with the surrounding tooth.
